Hodges Trucking Company, L.L.C.
has been the leader in Oilfield and Heavy Transportation since 1932.
Bill Hodges
founded the company shortly after the crash of 1929. The company struggled
through the hard years that followed and by 1935 boasted a fleet of
12 trucks. With Bill's experience in the oil patch to back him up,
he began to plan and develop his firm.
In 1964, Bill Hodges sold his company to his sons and on September
2nd of that year the new company was incorporated. Jack Hodges was
elected president and a new era of growth began for Hodges Trucking Company, L.L.C. By late 1968, when inexpensive foreign oil brought
Oklahoma and Texas drilling activities to a standstill, Hodges Trucking Company, L.L.C.didn't sit idle. They went outside the oil
industry for new business. Their philosophy was simple: "if
there is anything to move, we can move it." They moved wrecked trains, bridges and even airplanes from
runways. Their trucks and cranes were on the move from Mexico to Alaska.
When the Arab-initiated oil embargo went into effect in the early
seventies, Hodges was prepared for the
demands that followed.
In 1975, the company moved into its new 2 million-dollar headquarters
located just minutes from downtown, by 1976 two new 20,000 sq. ft.
maintenance and welding shops were constructed, enabling the company
to fabricate and service all of the new equipment that was on order.
This year was also important to the firm; Jacks oldest son Jimmy joined the company to become head of the trucking operations.
